Sometimes things go right

April 27, 2012 Jim Leave a Comment

In this blog, I write a lot about things that don’t go right. Just for completeness – and I don’t plan to make a habit of this – I’d like to talk about an event where things went just about perfectly.

On Monday, the display on my ThinkPad X220 started acting strangely. Black colors were rendered as orange, and there were other color errors. I was pretty sure it was a hardware problem, since the power on self test screen also exhibited the problem.

I called the 24 hour Lenovo service line. They took down my information, said they were shipping out a part, and told me that a tech would contact me late Wednesday. The tech actually called Thursday morning, and by Thursday noon he had come out to the house and swapped in a replacement LCD screen.

Problem solved
