I’ve got VIIRS high resolution data for today:
In the west:
We don’t see the spotting that the MODIS passes apparently showed, but there is definate advancement towards the southeast.
In the Cachagua area:
The activity to the south seems to have slowed down. Back burns are evident in several places. The wildfire itself seems to be advancing more slowly. I’ve seen tankers in the sky. I wonder if they are putting retardant on the wildfire, as well as using it to protect during back fires.
There’s now been another pass, is it shows more activity. I’ll present the three views in the same order:
This last image is somewhat concerning for Cachagua residents, as it shows eastward progress away from the fire lines.
Here’s a closer look at that:
