Keychron Q1 HE Hall Effect Keyboard OOBE

April 10, 2025 Jim Leave a Comment

In contrast to the MelGeek Hall Effect keyboard I reported on in the last post, this out of box experience went swimmingly.

The board feels great. I lowered the actuation points with the web app. The default assignments were perfect for me. The knob is assigned to volume (press to toggle mute, and twist to raise and lower the volume) which is fine with me.

The OS switch is a real switch on the side of the keyboard, so you can see what mode it’s in. Likewise for the Wired/Bluetooth/2.4GHz switch. The USB-C cord goes in the back of the keyboard, which I think is better than on the side.

I’m a happy camper.
