Dell Precision 7865 OOBE, part 2

September 3, 2023 Jim Leave a Comment

In the preceding post, I observed a gradual, intermittent failure of an OWC disk array. I suspected the OWC box, but it could have been one of the 18TB Toshiba disks, so I popped them out of the box and installed them in an OWC dock.

I copied over 8 TB of data to each disk. No problems. I compared the checksums. Still no problems.

This isn’t the first time an OWC array enclosure has failed me, but it is the first time I’ve watched an intermittent failure grow more frequent as time passes.
