Browser blues

August 1, 2012 Jim Leave a Comment

I switched from Firefox to Chrome soon after Google introduced their browser. Chrome was clean, and Chrome was fast. Chrome is fast no longer. Partly, that’s because fast is relative, and Firefox has gotten better. But a big change is that Chrome has gotten slower as it has gained more capability.

There’s an extra “feature” of Chrome that makes its slowness much more annoying for me: it won’t respond to the scroll wheel until it’s finished loading a page. That means that I’m not able to look at what’s going on part way down the page until it’s finished loading.

So I’m back to Firefox. I’ll check out Chrome from time to time to see if it gets better.
