Old Lirpa Labs patent application discovered.

February 22, 2026 Jim Leave a Comment

Archaeologists have unearthed an ancient patent application, which was apparently rejected by a patent administrator named F. Flintstone.

Title:

Rotational Ground-Interface Device for Facilitating Low-Friction Translational Movement of Objects

FIELD OF THE INVENTION

The present disclosure relates generally to transportation technology and, more specifically, to a substantially circular apparatus configured to reduce frictional resistance between a load-bearing object and an underlying terrestrial substrate (hereinafter, “the ground”).

BACKGROUND

Prior art transportation systems primarily consist of:

  1. Dragging objects.

  2. Carrying objects.

  3. Regretting having objects.

Such systems exhibit significant inefficiencies, including but not limited to:

  • Excessive friction

  • Musculoskeletal dissatisfaction

  • Primitive grunting

There exists a long-felt but unsolved need for a device that permits movement of heavy things without immediate despair.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The invention comprises a generally circular body configured to rotate about a central axis, thereby converting sliding friction into rolling friction, which is empirically less terrible.

In one embodiment, the device may be described as:

A round thing that rolls.

In a preferred embodiment, it continues to roll.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

FIG. 1: A circle.

FIG. 2: The same circle, slightly to the right.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION

Referring now to FIG. 1, a rotational ground-interface device (10) comprises:

  • An outer circumferential surface (12)

  • A central void or axle-receiving region (14)

  • A persistent unwillingness to remain stationary on slopes

The circumferential surface (12) is configured to engage the ground in a manner that permits rotational displacement when subjected to a tangential force.

In operation:

  1. A load is positioned above the device.

  2. A user applies force.

  3. The device rotates instead of scraping.

  4. Everyone agrees this was overdue.

In certain embodiments, multiple instances of the device may be arranged in parallel. Surprisingly, this improves stability.

ALTERNATIVE EMBODIMENTS

  • A wheel made of stone

  • A wheel made of wood

  • A wheel made of “advanced composite material” (still round)

  • A very small wheel (e.g., toy)

  • A very large wheel (e.g., empire)

The invention expressly excludes square implementations, which, while conceptually bold, remain suboptimal.

CLAIMS

Claim 1.

A device comprising:

a substantially circular perimeter;

an axis about which said perimeter rotates;

wherein rotational motion reduces the suffering associated with moving heavy objects.

Claim 2.

The device of Claim 1, wherein the perimeter is not square.

Claim 3.

The device of Claim 1, wherein two or more devices are used simultaneously, resulting in what experts may term “a cart.”

Claim 4.

The device of Claim 1, wherein continued rotation is deemed obvious to those skilled in the art.

ABSTRACT

A circular apparatus for enabling rotational movement of objects relative to a surface, thereby reducing friction, labor, and existential burden.
