File server time synch again

September 4, 2014 Jim Leave a Comment

I noticed a problem with Goodsync backups to one of my Synology boxes:

time synch problem

In the past, when I’ve seen this, it’s been because the Synology box has stopped updating its time settings, which it gets from a local windows domain controller. So I took a look:

I manually synched, and the time didn’t change. So I looked at the workstation time:

A few minutes off. I tried to get the workstation to update its time settings, but it required administrative credentials:

Going to Pearl>All Programs>Accessories, then right clicking on Command Prompt and selecting “Run as Administrator”, got me this:

suuccess

I wonder why the Win 7 workstation lost time synch in the first place…
